Product Type
Spray-on insect growth regulator (IGR) for the prevention of blowfly strike in sheep.
Properties
CLiK® is a ready-to-use spray-on formulation.
CLiK is the first and only fly strike product to contain dicyclanil, an insect growth regulator that provides trusted protection that frees farmers from welfare and time worries associated with blowfly strike.
CLiK also has an advanced ‘Rain-Lock’ formulation which uses suspo-emulsion technology. This allows CLiK to bind tightly to the grease in wool fibres and resist washing out
CLiK provides season-long protection, which is up to double the length of other commonly used products.* CLiK is effective on all wool lengths and sheep breeds.
*Based on registered APVMA label claims.
Indications
CLiK Spray-On is for the protection of:
- Sheep, either off-shears or with any length wool, against fly strike (Lucilia cuprina) for 18 to 24 weeks.
- Mulesing and marking wounds on sheep against fly strike (Lucilia cuprina) during the wound healing process.
CLiK is used exclusively for prevention against blowfly strike (i.e. the flock should be treated before a fly wave). CLiK’s proven performance has made it the world’s #1 blowfly protection product.
Dosage and Administration
The dose rate of CLiK is determined by the surface area rather than the body weight of the animal to be treated. The dose volumes are therefore adjusted so that lambs receive 50-100mg/kg while sheep in excess of 50kg are treated at 35mg/kg.
It is important to check the label to ensure the correct dose is administered.

- When tail has been amputated, apply 4mL over the crutch ensuring sufficient coverage of the open wound.
- When the tail has not been amputated, ensure sufficient coverage of the tail where the rubber ring has been applied.
In the case of ram lambs, a further 4mL can be sprayed over and around the scrotum area after the rubber ring has been applied.

For the prevention of poll strike
|
|
Rams and sheep susceptible to poll strike should be treated. Apply 5mL to the areas requiring protection, around the poll and horns.
|
Ensure all areas to be protected are treated. The gun nozzle should be high enough above the fleece (approximately 15–25cm), to achieve a 15cm wide band at each pass for protection of body strike (ensure bands overlap along the midline). For treatment of mulesing wounds, the band must be wide enough to cover the wound and 25mm into the surrounding wool. For treatment of marking wounds, cover the wound and surrounding wool.
CLiK can be applied when wool is wet, and in most weather conditions. Light rain after treatment will enhance the spread and penetration of dicyclanil into the wool. Heavy rain shortly after treatment may shorten the protection period to some extent, as with all fly control products. DO NOT apply during gusty or windy weather.
This product is not recommended for treatment of existing strikes.
DO NOT dilute or mix with any other product.
Apply directly from the container or an appropriate back pack using a spray-on applicator gun recommended by Novartis. Ensure the gun is clean and calibrated before use. After use, flush the gun with warm soapy water, then rinse with clean water.
CLiK should not be used in any manner contrary to the label. The use of other topical animal health products in conjunction with CLiK may reduce the period of protection provided by CLiK.
For specific parasite management recommendations for your area, contact your local veterinarian or animal health adviser.
